Well from the meaning of the song this is my interpretation. Hunger of the pine is about that yearning you have for someone you love who doesn’t love you back. Each arrow represents being let down, or shot down if you will in your advances by this person. But that yearning and desire doesn’t leave, doesn’t dissipate and so you carry on, even though you’re hurting. You carry on even though you keep getting hurt and shot down until finally you can’t go anymore. At this point you make you’re final plea, and in doing that you set yourself up to be destroyed and the likelihood of it working is like the likelihood of missing all of those flaming arrows.
