Tim O’Reilly in Wired

Interessantes Interview mit dem sympathischen Medien-Mogul Tim O’Reilly in Wired (21.01). Irgendwann sagt er:

You know, there were a number of times when I passed up venture capital because I preferred to build something for the long term. I certainly have felt bad for some of my employees – they see people who joined some odd startup and became wealthy. We haven’t been able to monetize at the same level, but I feel really good about what I’ve accomplished and the choices I’ve made. […] There are way too many people in Silicon Valley who have a lottery mentality, and way too many people who won the lottery who shouldn’t have. I hope that they take their good fortune and use it for good.

Zitat am Ende des Gesprächs:

The people who really are doing things they believe in will keep doing them, and the people who are just gold diggers will go away.
